About the Counsellor

My passion for mental health counseling is rooted in the power of connection and the belief that we can all grow through life’s challenges. The Japanese art of Kintsugi—the practice of repairing broken pottery with gold—speaks to me deeply, both personally and professionally.

Just like shattered pottery that is carefully mended and made even more beautiful, I believe that our struggles and vulnerabilities aren’t things to hide or fix in a way that erases them. Instead, they are opportunities for healing and growth. Life’s challenges don’t break us; they help us rebuild into something stronger and more beautiful. And through this process, we can become each other’s gold—offering support, kindness, and a little light when it’s needed most. This belief is at the heart of my approach to therapy, which is rooted in humanistic counseling.

I believe in the innate worth of every person and that each of us has the potential for growth, healing, and self-actualization. Just as Kintsugi sees the cracks in pottery as something to be celebrated, I see the imperfections and difficulties we face as part of what makes us who we are.
Silly as it sounds,
It’s not just about fixing the cracks; it’s about embracing them, learning from them, and allowing them to shape us into our fullest selves.

As a counsellor, I’ve had the privilege of working with people from all walks of life—children, teens, adults, and seniors—across a variety of settings, including schools, hospitals, mental health clinics, and community organizations. This diverse experience allows me to offer compassionate, personalized support to each individual, meeting them where they are on their journey.

I approach therapy with a humanistic mindset—focused on empathy, understanding, and unconditional positive regard. I try my best to create a safe space for clients to explore themselves, find their authentic voice, and tap into their own potential for healing. I draw on a range of approaches, including Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Gestalt Therapy, and Positive Psychotherapy, tailoring these to each person’s unique needs.

Beyond one-on-one sessions, I’ve also had the joy of leading workshops and giving talks—helping people explore their potential, gain insights, and feel empowered along the way.

Through every connection, every moment of healing, I truly believe we can turn even the toughest times into opportunities for growth. Like Kintsugi, which highlights the beauty in what’s been repaired, I believe our struggles don’t define us—they shape us, strengthen us, and make us more beautiful, inside and out.
